A Manifesto.
When there’s no balance whether it’s in the natural world, in one’s personal life or in society, which directly and indirectly affects nature and our own personal lives: chaos, anarchy, violence and overall general destruction occurs. Through history greed has been the downfall of societies because greed is never sufficed- a balanced can never be reached. Art has played the major role in history in trying to achieve that very delicate balance serving as a symbol and changing history. But art today has become something very different.
Art has turned into a money hungry industry only seeking to sell a product regardless of what the product may be. Art is the fruit of a societies culture. The fruit being produced are lavish, over the top, blinding, loud and dense imagery used to bully, blind and control society. Our culture has become a product of greed and art has been both the victim and the aggressor of greed.
We the skilled artistic minds must unite and use our expertise for the better good of our culture. Integrity before greed: if as a whole we decide not to feed into the machine of consumerism we can change the culture of our society. As one we can make a stand, a stand against the illegitimate use of our skills. If each of us refuses to produce products, music, films, paintings etc. that we don’t believe in, combined we will change our culture. We can achieve this balance nature seeks through art. Art is the subliminal force guiding us in a direction. The balance of our society is in our hands and it’s our duty to embrace the change that we can achieve. Let’s stop the coercing of our conformity and lets generate a fruit true of our society.
